| “Ah, Sir Walter Raleigh, he is an acquaintance of mine. A fine man
indeed, but he is a little arrogant. He is of course a human and an
important human to today's society, but never the less he is arrogant
and imposes himself on any warm blooded woman in sight.†“Indeed, my Lady, I have noticed as such. He still would make an excellent protector of thy honor!†“We shall see how much protection who needs, Wizard Zanoar, we shall see.†There
is a knock at the door and a Ranger brought the food in. The two take
20 minutes to eat without words to clutter the wizard's intake. As soon
as Kolo was finished he continued, “You talk of too much good power
and of too many evil creatures, why dost thy words come out as
backwards to me? If there is evil, you need more power. If there is
Love, you need more tenderness.†“While said statement is true,
there is also a converse to thy words. The town folk do not wish to see
battles of air and fire, they do not wish to see towns flooded to the
ceiling. They do not wish to see anything they cannot touch unless they
ask for it. When the time is right, the people will ask for the power
we posses and that is when we must give it.†“Aye, my Lady, you are correct. I am simply not used to a feared approach to magic, Atheryn is a much different place.†“Yes,
Kolo Zanoar, yes it is.†She pauses, “Kolo, despite my chastising
of your presence, it is wonderful to have a friendly magic being in
Canterbury. Indeed it has been a long time since I have felt another's
good intentions like yours.†“Well, my Lady, it appears you need
me after all. If all I do is cheer your spirits, I shall be a happy
man. Despite how quick I am to dispatch a threat, I have never wished
to fight or kill.†“Nay, I have never had mind to mention such
things, Wizard. Enough of these trivial matters let us talk about the
situation at hand. We have much to discuss before you tread freely in
this town. “Canterbury has been over run with the Bechtalinians,
Kolo. They are around every corner and behind every tree stalking those
who they wish be their prey when the trap is sprung. Whoever their hive
leader is, he is good. I have not been able to locate him with the use
of my power nor have I been able to spot him at any time. The village
people have not spotted the evil and vial creatures yet, it is a spell
of mass proportions that I have never seen in my life.†“My
Lady, I fear this is not the only place for which this dilemma has
consumed the for front of the magic world. Nine other cities I have
visited fair similar potential fates. I fear that the Bechtalin emperor
may be staging a mass attack across this world to bring instability to
the region. I have left Atheryn First Count troops stationed outside
those cities in danger with a Constructed spell keeping them hidden. “However,
Canterbury holds my greatest concern during these times. This town will
be the center of the invasion. This town is in the center of the
kingdom as well as the center of the worlds. Is it not true, my Lady,
that the Queen of this world herself will be arriving a fortnight from
this date to celebrate the day of the towns birth?†“Yes, it is true she shall be here.†Kolo
Stands up and paces, “Have you been able to alert anyone to the
Bechtalin presence? Any of the Elvish Elders? The Dwarves Chieftains?
The Riders of Gale?†“Nay, The messages have all been
intercepted. The only people who know are the two of us, and the
Forty-nine rangers of this world.†“I see.†Kolo paces a brief moment before he continues, “I may need to take a few days to go warn the councils.†“Nay
Wizard, they know you are here.†She pauses as her face cringes a
little bit. “Who is that lady you have brought with you? She's sent
the whole Bechtalin camps on alert, bad things are going to happen!
Kolo why have you brought a Vithalian Priest here?â€

| A weary travel has come from a far... one so mystical it is believed he came from the winds themselves. A wizard who legend has stated lives with the wind, in its swells and with its breeze. Wizard Kolo Zanoar came with the Lady Dieser, another mystical being, to possibly help Lady Rehtaeh with her entrance to the human society and to help further her education and use of Magical Powers. Along the road to Canterbury in search for Lady Rehtaeh, Wizard Zanoar ran into Sir Walter Raleigh, Privateer and Gentleman. Sir Walter Raleigh was a gentleman to Lady Dieser (even when she beat his hand away) and was polite to an obviously power man such as Wizard Zanoar. The journey was filled with conversation of current day events and Sir Walter's conversation with Lady Dieser. “My Lady, wouldst thou please inform me about thyself. “My Lord, I am but a simple lady, traveling with this wizard because he once saved my life. I am forever indebted to him and will never leave his side. At this point Kolo breaks into the conversation waving his hands frivolously, “The Lady does not owe me a thing but I cannot convince her of such and so she stay around. Who am I to disagree with the company of a beautiful lady? “I agree Kolo, never should you disagree with this Lady's company. “One day, Sir Walter Raleigh, I pray I may give him back in kind which he gave me. When that day comes I wish to be anywhere other than my home so I may start a new life. “My Lady, if Kolo does not record a debt, then why not just count it even and stay in Canteburry after we arrive? “To do so, my Lord, would dishonor myself and my family. You see, my Lord, the world Kolo and I came from has customs and beliefs I have never seen since the start of our travels. Before she could talk about their customs, there was a loud rustling from the brush. Sir Walter checks to make sure his sword is free in its scabbard. Kolo leans in to Sir Walter, “Pirates, Sir Walter, eight of them total. One is hanging back from the rest, the other seven approaching from all sides. “How can thou knowest this information dear Wizard? “I have sight with my gift, not just with my eyes. Prepare thyself, here they come. “I shall, but ye should have told me before this time, eight pirates is just over a fair fight. I will be slightly out numbered. “Nay, Sir Walter, for I am with you. This is hardly a fair fight, for them. Eight is but a spec on my staff. “I am glad you have confidence Lord Wizard, but leave the dispatching to me. At this, the pirates come bounding from the trees, surrounding the travelers. One pirate, presumably the leader speaks up, “Ah, Sir Walter Raleigh it is so good to see you again, and who are your traveling companions? I believe I see some excellent loot standing behind thee. Stand aside and we shall not harm the Lady. “Captain Asra, I wish I could say it were a pleasure for me to see thee as well. I, however, will never give in to the likes of you! Prepare thy sword sir, I shall draw thy blood this day. A battle ensues between the Pirate Captain and Sir Walter Raleigh. The two are a fairly equal match when Sir Walter Raleigh has one hand tied behind his back, but for this match he has both hands. Sir Walter Raleigh quickly bests the Captain and takes his sword. “Now who would like to challenge me? With a roar, the rest of the pirates converge on Sir Walter Raleigh and company. One pirate goes for Kolo and another goes for Lady Dieser. Kolo, being as fast as he is, points at each man in turn and sends both flying with out their weapons. With staff glowing he turns to the men around Sir Walter. Being a man of the sword, Sir Walter is in excellent shape and has dispatched two pirates while the other two keep both hands occupied. Kolo, standing with both hands on his staff, asks, “Sir Walter, wouldst thee like me to intervene? I would be most glad to subdue the remaining two. “Wizard Zanoar, that is not necessary, these two will fall quickly. No sooner had Sir Walter said that than the Pirate Captain rushed to the aide of his men holding a boot knife. Being caught unaware, it was impossible to stop the knife from being held at his throat. “Wizard Zanoar I recant my last statement. Hearing this Kolo's staff began to glow brighter, and with a blinding flash of light all three pirates were ripped in half dead were they stood. “Wizard Zanoar, I am very grateful that I am on the right side of this battle. I also pray I never have to witness such power again. “I understand my boy, it is rare when a Wizard must use such power, but when necessary I cannot flinch or hold anything back. To do so could be fatal. With no immediate threat, the question was raised. “What of the eighth pirate? You mentioned he was hanging back from the group. “Ah, he is now running as fast as he can up the road towards the town. “We should not stop between now and when we reach Canterbury. Such news will travel fast and we need to show the people that a Courtier trusts you. “Then we shall be on our way. Lady Dieser, I pray thou art well? “Aye, Wizard Zanoar, a little shaken, but I am well. “Very well, Sir Walter, Lead the way."
When the three travelers reached Canterbury, word of the pirate attack had already spread drawing a heavy crowd to see who this mysterious man who could summon such destructive power without even a muttered word. Seeing the crowd, Sir Walter Raleigh decided to make Wizard Zanoar known to the whole town and began an introduction. "Good Ladies and Lords of Canterbury, it is my greatest honor to introduce you to the Wizard who commands the air. A Wizard so great, he lives with the wind itself! Wizard Kolo Zanoar, Fuer Grissa Ost Moss." Wizard Zanoar, being impressed with Sir Walter Raleigh's use an ancient tongue forged a friendship that will last beyond the years of Sir Walter Raleigh's departure from earth. The town folk being amazed at such talent and introduction from one of the Queens Courtiers, gave him anything he needed while he was in Canterbury that day. Having been in the town for only two hours and having been traveling for a fortnight, Wizard Zanoar was very tired, and missing a good meal... He asked Sir Walter Raleigh, "Sir Walter, where would be a good place to bed down for the night?" Raleigh, being the gentleman said, "I still have not been able to repay the debt for helping me with those pirates, Wizard Zanoar. I could not be the gentleman if I did not offer the full services of my estate to you and the Lady." Kolo replied, "Sir Walter, now that we have passed beyond mere acquaintances, you must call me Kolo, as that is what my friends and advisors call me." "As you wish, Kolo. Now I will neigh take no for an answer. Thy place for the night is my estate, no finer quarters in Canterbury." "As long as a meal is included Sir Walter. Bags, I am a hungry wizard!"
The three of them walk to and enter the estate of Sir Walter Raleigh. The cook was preparing a fine soup with biscuits, and as every Wizard will tell you, you cannot have soup without biscuits. Kolo, being so hungry asked to eat first to fill his empty stomach. During the meal, Sir Walter is the first to speak up; this is not unusual, as a Wizard rarely likes to disturb a meal with frivolous conversation. "Kolo, I feel the need to ask, from where hast thy travels brought thee? Legend states you travel and live with the wind." Kolo takes a minute to reply but when he does it is in between bites, "Sir Walter..." "Walter will do when we are not in public, Kolo" Kolo nods once as he says, "Walter, the legends you have heard are from a narrow minded perspective, while it is true I travel with the wind I do no LIVE within it. I live wherever prophecy and circumstance dictate. The place where I'm from my boy? That is a question not easily answered. You see, where I came from is a place only reachable by two ways... The Wind.... and the Underworld." Walter, visibly uncomfortable with the talk of the underworld counters with newfound confidence, "Such dark and dreary talk of the underworld, Kolo. One would say that you were a bad, untrustworthy creature for talk of dark matters. There is now way by land or sea to get there? Surely there must if you would appear a good distance out side of Canterbury, why not appear in the town and spare the travel time? Kolo, amused at the response replies, "some Wizards like myself prefer to walk and enjoy the country side. Not to mention some have insight into prophecy and can see good gentleman nearly killed in uneven fights such as this afternoon." "Indeed, Kolo, I would have had trouble dispatching the lot. I am sure my looks, and my sword would have accomplished the task, but never the less I do thank thee for the aide." Kolo raises an eyebrow and continues eating. "Now enough about you Kolo, I wish to hear more from Lady Dieser. We did not get to finish our conversation my Lady. I wish to hear more about these beliefs that has brought you here into my company." "Sir Walter, these beliefs have been in place for 4,000 years and encompass the whole world we came from." "Lady Dieser, I am impressed a culture has held beliefs for so long, it is not commonly seen in this world of ours. Is this a nobility belief or is it held as a commoner belief? “Neigh, Lord Raleigh, it is a belief and custom held by every soul of our world! “I pray I may learn more about thy beliefs Lady Dieser, perhaps later this evening? Before she could answer Kolo spoke up. "Walter, is that cook of yours bringing thirds or must I get acclimated to your kitchen myself?" "Goodness Kolo, thy appetite is astounding for one so thin of height and weight." "Bags man, have you ever met a wizard before?" "Kolo, had I met a wizard before... I would have known before that fight what you were capable of." "Well, Sir Walter, I do tell you that from this day forward, keep more food in stock when you have a wizard around. It's difficult being a wizard! We need our nourishment. Why, ask my Lady companion how much she has to cook just to keep me fed!" Sir Walter looks over at Lady Dieser, glad to have a reason to look at such beauty. She nods her assent with Kolo's statement. Kolo snaps Walter's attention back with his speaking. "Walter, I think I shall skip thirds tonight I am awful tired and need to get an early start in the morning." “Kolo, it will be my pleasure. Sir Walter used the silence to ask yet another question. "Kolo, Do you have a reason for coming into Canterbury? Surely a Wizard of one's talent must have a reason to arrive at such a small town." Kolo, being a cryptic man of magic states, "Why does a Father guard his young? Perhaps why would a doe be hesitant to let a fawn out on its own?" "Surely you know why... It is their sacred duty to keep harm from becoming of them. Both unknown and known predators have a way of taking care of the unlearned." "Exactly my boy, exactly." A pause and a puzzled look from Sir Walter, “I am in search of my charge, and I need to find it in the morning. "Prithee tell me who thy charge is that I may be able to tell their place of residence!" "I do not believe that will be necessary, my charge emits quite a bit of power. Undoubtedly my charge knows this but one wizard such as myself can sense that power for leagues away." "Still, I might be able to send someone to find this charge of yours, maybe even have it waiting for you when you wake." "I prefer my charge to be where it is, I would not want to frighten it." "As you wish it Kolo. But should you do change your mind, please find me or have Lady Dieser find me to let me know." "Thank you Walter. The company went up the stairs in silence to their separate quarters. The following day, after parting company with Sir Walter Raleigh, Wizard Zanoar and Lady Dieser travel the town to find Wizard Zanoar's charge. Along the path the shops were a buzz in Canterbury, people going about their daily business barely paying attention to the Wizard in black robes. Kolo paused but for a second to think about how quickly people can change in how they act around others. A Wizard of his stature would draw a huge crowd back in Atheryn. A crowd that still respects the magical traits in people. Kolo snaps out of it when a beggar hobbles up and holds up his dead pet rat saying “CLEEEEEAN. Wizard Zanoar, being a Wizard of charity, floats a gold piece from his purse to the hand of the beggar. The beggar bounds away mystified and happy at his newfound treasure, leaving Kolo happy to view his work. He looks around to see a few covert stares from the public. Kolo started rethinking how the people of Canterbury were acting. One would think they were only wishing to keep their necks off the blocks whether it be the Queens or Kolo's. As Kolo rounded the bend, a great power hit him, making him stagger back a few feet. Sensing the flow of the power, Kolo knew who it came from as he had encountered this power before. Lady Dieser seeing him stagger stopped and rushed to his aid. “Wizard Zanoar, are you all right? “Yes, my Lady, I am fine. Having regained his composure, Kolo analyzed the power infiltrating his body. He suddenly felt warm as the power was revealed to him as recognition and love. Kolo had found his charge and she had found him. “Lady Rehtaeh is in the shop atop this hill, we shall go to her at once. “Yes, Wizard Zanoar, are you sure you will be all right? “Yes, my child, Elvish power has a way of catching people off guard. The two of them walked up the hill and into the White Light Inn. Upon entering the room, two men with swords stepped in from of him as they noticed his Wizards staff. “Ah gentleman Rangers, it is a pleasure. Kolo bows very slightly as a Wizard of Kolo's power rarely bows more than a twelfth of his height. “Lady Rehtaeh, is expecting me. He points with his staff to the stairs as Lady Rehtaeh appears at the top. One Ranger speaks up, “We will decide that Wizard. The other looks to Lady Rehtaeh and asks, “Are his words true my Lady? “Aye they are, My Lord. “Very well my Lady. The two gentleman step to the side to let Kolo and Lady Dieser past and as they climb the stairs the Rangers ask Lady Rehtaeh, “My Lady, wouldst thou like us to accompany? “Nay my Lords, this Wizard is an old aquaintence of mine. “Very well, my Lady. Shall I fetch any nourishment for thy guest? “Yes, my boy, Kolo interjects, “Indeed I would require some bannock, stew, and biscuits. “Aye, Wizard, it shall be brought up. “Wizard Zanoar, good Rangers. “Aye, Wizard Zanoar. Wizard Zanoar and Lady Rehtaeh reach a door way and the Wizard turns to Lady Dieser, “Lady Dieser, please wait for my out here in the hall. Meanwhile, Kolo lifts his arm and a chair appears for the Lady to sit. Lady Rehtaeh and Kolo enter Lady Rehtaeh's room and sit down to talk. “Wizard Zanoar, it is a pleasure to see thee well after all these years. “It is a pleasure that warms my heart to see thy face, Lady Rehtaeh. You are exactly how I remember you from long ago. “Wizard Zanoar, I felt thy presence when you used your power earlier today, prithee tell me what caused use of your power in the middle of a crowded street. “It was an act of Charity, my Lady. A beggar by the name of Dustbin I believe came up to me and I floated him a gold piece out of my purse. “Wizard Zanoar, this is a dangerous place to practice ones magic. I have recently seen Ring Wraiths as well as Mord Sith. There is no telling who is roaming this town. I have only recently been fortunate enough to enter into the company of the fair Rangers down stairs. They themselves protected me from the Ring Wraith who tried to attack me three days ago. “I apologize my arrival was delayed for I could have been in thy company as well and avoided the situation. Was there any damage to the public during said attack? “Thankfully no, I fear that this place is going to be a battle ground for a war. If it were not, I doubt we would see such a presence from the Ring Wraiths. Others have talked about Vampires and Ghouls running the streets at night, this is not a safe place any more. “I have seen as much in Prophecy, this is why I have come. I am here to help guide you and teach you. “Wizard Zanoar, I have long since been out of learning. I will never claim to know all, but I am above the age for mentors. “A Wizard needs to learn as well, I was hoping that I could learn from you as much as you could learn from me. This is no mere Mentorship. This is a forging of a betterment between the Elves and the Wizards. This is also an agreement to help lessen the tear on the Veil of the Underworld, it is weak and I can no longer travel within it or fear tearing the Veil further. “That is grave news, Wizard, this could also explain the presence of so many Ring Wraiths. How has this tear come to be? “I am not sure, my Lady, but I believe it is in its healing process, a friend of mine has stopped the tear, it now only has to heal. But as are all wounds they need time and they need balanced care. This balanced care must be maintained by the protection as ones such as yourself. It also must be maintained by confronting the beings coming through the tear when they come around. “My Wizard, I shall say then that we must go in this world together to bring forth peace again. “Bless you Lady Rehtaeh, it is great to hear you have not changed much at all. “As I can say for you as well. “Bags, where are the ranger wish my food? “Wizard Zanoar, I see you have taken to cursing? “Only when in grave situations or when hungry, my Lady. At that moment there was a crash down stairs and some yelling. “I will go see what is going on my Lady, you stay here. “Yes Wizard Zanoar, I shall monitor the situation from up here. Wizard Zanoar runs down the stairs, robes flying behind him to see what the commotion is about. There standing sword point o sword point were the Rangers and a band of about fifteen Pirates. Kolo came in when the conversation reached a boiling point. “Tell us where the Wizard is and we shall not run you through! “This Wizard you are talking about is right here Gentleman. What is it I can do for you this day? “You can surrender your life in exchange for that of Captain Asra's. “Gentleman I will give you my life when you can take it. Rangers stand down, this is between myself and these men. “A friend of the Lady's is a friend of our's, we shall stand at thy side. “I assure you that is not necessary. With that the pirates charged for Wizard Zanoar, who immediately raised a hand and sent them all flying backwards. The pirates not wishing to be bested, started for Kolo again. This time Kolo send the pebbles from the dirt floor and drove them fast into the chests of four pirates. Those men dropped to the floor and died after the pebbles pierced their hearts. The other eight pirates were still not discouraged and charged at him again, but met a solid wall of air that kept them in place. “Dost thou wish to be ripped to shreds? I am capable of many such acts of violence. I wish only that you would leave and spread the work that I am not to be trifled with. He awaited for an answer and when he got none, he ripped the leg of the leader wide open for all to see. “Gentleman, that was but a thought. I can do much worse. The leader was screaming in agony as his limb was ripped from his body. Some of the men were visiably frightened while others were boldend to strike again. Kolo was about to rip a pirate most important body part from his body when Lady Rehtaeh appeared and began to speak. “Good pirates, this Wizard will not hesitate to rip you all to shreds. In my native world this Wizard is known as The Wind of the Dead. Lady Dieser walked down a few steps and continued, “He made those he killed suffer for their transgressions before he finished them. Something tells me that you men have taken a liking to the brothels and the women around them. That is the part Wizard Zanoar will take away from you should you wish to continue this confrontation. The pirates took a look around each other and decided it would not be worth the trouble. “Please Wizard, we shall not come after you this day. “I look forward to our next meeting, Kolo said with confidence as he released the air holding them in place. Two pirates helped their leader out of the building and the place went quiet. Kolo approached the Inn Keeper as he raised his hand, “I am sorry for the mess, The blood vanishes with a thought, “I hope that you will accept my apologies. “My Lord, Wizard, no apologies necessary. “Lady Rehtaeh, shall we continue our conversation upstairs? “Yes, Wizard Zanoar. She turned to the Rangers, “Is someone bringing the food upstairs? “Aye, My Lady, it is almost ready. “Thank you Gentle Sirs.

| Previously in Wizard Zanoar's tale:
Kolo raises an eyebrow and continues eating.
"Now enough about you Kolo, who is the fine lady who walks in thy company?"
"Ask her yourself, she prefers when people talk directly to her."
"Lady Dieser, prithee tell me about thyself, and spare not a single detail."
Kolo concentrates the air around Lady Dieser's hand so Walter cannot kiss it.
and now, more in the tale.
Sir Walter is again mystified by the power wielded
by Kolo asks yet one more question into Kolo's past. "Kolo, Do you have
a reason for coming into Cantebury? Surely a Wizard of one's
talent must have a reason to bring talent to such a small town."
Kolo,
being a cryptic man of magic states, "Why does a Father guard his

| We join the story in the estate of Sir Walter Raleigh, Privateer and
of course gentleman, as the meal is being served. The

Walter, visibly uncomfortable with the talk of the
underworld counters with new found confidence, "Surely there is a way
by land, or sea? I know you like traveling the wind but that could mean
by the sea, ships travel by wind. Besides, if you travel by
wind... why not have appeared inside Cantebury?"
Kolo, amused at the response replies, "some Wizards

Next Installment maybe after work.

| Good ladies and fair gentleman,
A weary travel has come from a far... one so mystical it is believed he
came from the winds themselves. A wizard who legend has stated
lives with the wind, in its swells and with its breeze.
Wizard Kolo Zanoar came with his Lady Dieser to serve and protect Elven
Lady Rehtaeh and her Gypsy sister from pirates and swindling
humans. Along the road to Cantebury in search for Lady Rehtaeh,
Wizard Zanoar ran into Sir Walter Raleigh, Privateer and Gentleman. Sir
Walter Raleigh was a gentleman to Lady Dieser (even when Wizard Zanoar
beat his hand away from Lady Dieser with his staff) and was polite to
an obviously power man such as Wizard Zanoar. The two quickly
discovered they could benefit from each others presence when in travel
they came upon a group of Pirates. These pirates tried to attack
Wizard Zanoar and Lady Dieser, seeing as how they looked defenseless
with only his staff and her looks, little did they know that before
they could get within ten paces a wall of air would knock them back
into a tree. Wizard Zanoar subdued four pirates this way while
Sir Walter Raleigh dispatched the other three. When the three
travelers reached Cantebury, word of the pirate attack had already
spread (seeing as how one of the swash bucklers had been hiding in the
trees and escaped) drawing a heavy crowd to see who this mysterious man
who could summon blasts of air without even a muttered word.
Seeing the crowd, Sir Walter Raleigh decided to make Wizard Zanoar
known to the whole town and began an introduction.
"Good Ladies and Lords of Cantebury, it is my greatest honor to
introduce you to the Wizard who commands the air. A Wizard so
great, he lives with the wind itself! Wizard Kolo Zanoar, Fuer Grissa
Ost Moss."
Wizard Zanoar, being impressed with Sir Walter Raleigh's use an ancient
tongue forged a friendship that will last beyond the years of Sir
Walter Raleigh's departure from earth. The town folk being amazed
at such talent and introduction from one of the Queens body guards,
gave him anything he needed while he was in Cantebury. Having
been in the town for only two hours and having been traveling for a
fortnight, Wizard Zanoar was very tired, and missing a good
meal...
He asked Sir Walter Raleigh, "Sir Walter, where would be a good place to bed down for the night?"
Raleigh, being the gentleman said, "I still have not been able to
repay the debt for helping me with those pirates, Wizard Zanoar. I
could not be the gentleman if I did not offer the full services of my
estate to you and your Lady."
Kolo replied, "Sir Walter, now that we have passed beyond mere
acquaintances, you must call me Kolo, as that is what my friends and
advisors call me."
"As you wish, Kolo. Now I will neigh take no for an answer.
Thy place for the night is my estate, no finer quarters in Cantebury."
